Daniel and Gabriella © 2025 Mitchell Scott — All rights reserved. Lyrics Daniel saddled his horse and rode on into town His girl Gabriella, always hangin’ 'round They crossed the border, dreamin’ of better pay Hoping to save up for a family someday Daniel mended fences, every post in line Earned just enough to keep their supper fine They found a little room in the back of a barn Gabriella did chores, stitched buttons and yarn Life was simple, but it was theirs Hard work and love, and daily prayers They made a name, without a sound Built their life on solid ground Then the bad men came to town They rode in hard, with dust in their tracks Dark eyes and whiskey, knives at their backs Thundering hooves and bullets flying It was a time for killing and a time for dying. Gabriella was out, buyin’ bread and meat When trouble circled on the market street A bunch of angry men with lust in their eyes Cruel intentions they wouldn't disguise Jonas McGee, with a grin so vile Said, “Come with me, girl, stay a while” The townsfolk gathered, tension grew Someone ran — they knew just what to do Daniel got word and was off without a sound Riding like lightning before his tools hit the ground His horse skidded into the square The crowd fell silent — all eyes were there Jonas called, “Boy, draw your gun” A voice called out, “He ain't got one” It only took an instant to see he had none Jonas told his second, “Give him a gun” Daniel strapped it on without batting an eye Heard Jonas call out, “Son, now is your time” They heard the word Draw, and a shot flew free The crowd saw Jonas drop down to one knee The dust stood still, not a word was said Justice was drawn, and Jonas lay dead The rest of the bad men all drew their guns And Daniel took them down, one by one. The square stood quiet, the dust settled down It was the wrong day — for the bad men to come to town Gabriella ran, tears in her eyes “Daniel,” she whispered, “we’re safe tonight” Daniel looked at her, said I thought I was done, I promised you I was finished wearing a gun Into his arms, she found her peace The storm had passed, the town at ease A soft wind blows again — quiet, and free... Quiet, and free, is all they ever wanted to be...
Frontier love and hard choices. Daniel and Gabriella rides a steady, cinematic groove—acoustic bed, Tele flourishes, and a lyrical gunfighter arc. It’s classic storytelling with a modern polish, tailor-made for a deep vocal and a band that can hold tension and release.
